“Only one in four start-ups make it to 15 years,” noted Ed Diehl, our president and co-founder. That’s reason to celebrate. So, we did! Concept Systems’ employees and their families spent a weekend in Sunriver–team building, white water rafting, horseback riding, kayaking, biking, and enjoying great food, s’mores, dancing, and a band. What memories we created!
A much anticipated activity was our Team Building Regatta, which challenged us to build boats and sail them. Our team building guides divided us into random teams, so we worked with people we often don’t interact with on the job. Each team received cardboard, duct tape, and a plastic bag. Then, a whole lot of creativity ensued.
When the whistle blew after 40 minutes, 10 teams were ready to set sail and paddle to victory. Some focused on paddling, some on sinking other boats. Yet, at the end of the day, everyone enjoyed the team building experience. Some of us managed to stay dry, while others had a nice swim!
During our farewell dinner Michael Gurney, our CEO and co-founder emphasized the importance of each employee. “We could not have reached our 15 year mark without you, this is a celebration of you. Thank you.”
This occasion marked a momentous milestone for the Concept Systems team and was a testament to our work-life balance and the family spirit rooted deeply in our culture. Here’s to many more years of serving our customers and sharing our passion for automation.
